چکیده
Abstract Background Parkinson’s disease (PD) has been found to increase the risk of postoperative complications in patients with adult spinal deformity (ASD). However, few studies have investigated this by directly comparing PD and those without PD. Methods In multicenter retrospective cohort study, we reviewed all surgically treated ASD at least 2 years follow-up. Among them, 27 had (PD+ group). Clinical data were collected on early late as well any revision surgery. Radiographic parameters evaluated before immediately after surgery final follow-up, including sagittal vertical axis (SVA), thoracic kyphosis, lumbar lordosis, sacral slope, pelvic tilt. We compared surgical outcomes radiographic non-PD patients. Results For complications, PD+ group demonstrated a higher rate delirium than PD− group. terms non-union was significantly Rates rod failure due mechanical also tended be higher, but not significantly, ( p = 0.17, 0.13, respectively). SVA follow-up loss correction Conclusion Extra attention should paid perioperative especially delirium, undergoing for ASD. Furthermore, greater these

Material and method We researched consequent 40 adult spinal deformity patients in our institute during January 2012 to January 2013. The mean age of patients was 60.1 years old. The research item was SVA, LL, TK, PT, PI, SS and EGA. We have movie recording from the side of the patients walking. We set markers at the External auditory pore and the Greater trochanter, and de fine the straight li...

متن کاملRestoration of Sagittal Balance in Spinal Deformity Surgery
The prevalence of patients with adult spinal deformity (ASD) has been reported as high as 68%. ASD often leads to significant pain and disability. Recent emphasis has been placed on sagittal plane balance and restoring normal sagittal alignment with regards to the three dimensional deformity of ASD. Optimal sagittal alignment has been known to increase spinal biomechanical efficiency, reduce en...
